How to place a Google+ badge on your site.

Go to and Sign in with the Google+ account you want to link to.
Choose the Icon options that you want.
Copy the HTML Code given on the right under the badge.

Use a plain text editor (Notepad). Start with the text below.

Replace the words "My code" with the text you copied from the badge editor.
Replace title="My Gadget" with title="my google plus badge"
Click File, select Save as and save the gadget with a new name with the file type ".xml", like "mygadget.xml".

Upload the file to a public folder in Google Drive and host it there. Get the public URL of your gadget file.

Go to your site and sign in.
Edit the page that you want to put the badge on.
Click Insert and select "More gadgets".
Click Add gadget by URL.
Insert the URL of your gadget.
Set the height and width options as necessary.
Remove the checks from:
  •  Include a scrollbar on gadget when necessary
  •  Include a border around gadget
  •  Display title on gadget
Click OK and Save the page.

The above directions can be used for creating other gadgets. After you get the code you want to use in your gadget, insert it into the gadget after [CDATA[, replacing the words Hello, world!
Replace "hello world example" with a name for your gadget and save the file with a new filename.
